Sample Diet for Diabetes

Every year many people are diagnosed with the most frequent type of diabetes, type 2 diabetes. Many may feel worried after being diagnosed but there are many ways to treat diabetes. There are several ways to improve this condition and one of the most important is to follow a healthy diabetic diet. To start it is important to cut down on foods with high sugar even though for many this can be very tough. However cutting down sugars is not the only important thing to do. Type 2 diabetics must also work to lose weight as well. The majority of people with type 2 diabetes are obese which is very unhealthy. It is important to eat less carbs and calories to lose weight and eat more healthy fats to control your glucose and lose weight. By following these steps you will easily start to lose weight. Again, a big part slimming down for those with Type 2 diabetes is to cut down on sugar. It is particularly important to make sure that their sugar level does not rise rapidly, and then decrease quickly. It is also suggested that you eat 6 small meals through the day instead of three big meals. For some it is helpful to keep a journal of the foods you are eating to see how you are progressing. Record exactly what you eat, and how many calories it contained approximately. Plus, make sure to also include in your journal what exercises you have done and for how long. Doing this will help you to see where you need to improve and to keep yourself motivated in order to reach your goal. Maintaining a diet is not easy, and motivation like this can make all the difference in making the diet a successful one. |
